We are so happy to finally release this new musical offering, ALBUM TROIS. We started making French music twelve years ago as a joy-project and it still continues to fill our souls with love, passion and great joy. This album was made with a lot of love and care with the same extraordinary musicians who played on our first two albums… (plus a couple of new guests).
Unfortunately our national album launch tour has once again been dashed by lockdowns, although our November 5th show at the Brisbane Powerhouse is still a possibility! We are rescheduling now and are ever-optimistic that our early 2022 tour will be a winner, le gagneur! Third time lucky, peut-être; one has to live with a glass half full... of espoir (hope), n'est-ce pas?
Album Trois was produced by Lara Goodridge & Abby Dobson. Engineered by Lewis Mitchell at SONY Studios Sydney and Foxtrot Studio in Sydney. Mixed by ARIA and Emmy Award winner Daniel Denholm. Mastered by Steve Smart at Studios 301.
The recording features the original band of Baby et Lulu virtuosos; Marcello Maio (piano, accordion), Julian Curwin (guitar), Matthew Ottignon (saxophone, clarinet, flute) and Mark Harris (double bass, vocals) plus Ross Harrington ( clarinet, saxophone) & guests Dane Laboyrie (trumpet) and Alex Hirlian (drums, percussion).
Album Trois is the follow up to our eponymous album and Album Deux. Abby and Lara again pen original songs for this album in our adopted language of French and we have designed a delicious dégustation of other musical morsels. With songs by Charles Trenet, Maurice Chevalier, Michel Legrand, Henry Mancini, Boris Vian and the modern sensation, Stromae, you’ll be able to dance in your kitchen to Album Trois whilst stirring your boeuf bourgignon and sipping your Bourdeaux.
